Morgan Downey
President
Morgan is the founder and president of True Heart Healing. With a lifelong love of animals and a deep belief in the transformative impact of the human-horse connection, Morgan created True Heart Healing to provide the community with what horses have provided for her: hope, growth, learning, and meaningful relationships.
Morgan is also the host of The Daily Ride podcast, where she explores topics including horsemanship, equine cognition, trauma, learning, healing, relationships, and the unique bond between horses and humans. Through both the podcast and True Heart Healing, her mission is to create educational opportunities, meaningful conversations, and hands-on experiences that make healing and personal growth accessible to the broader community.
Professionally, Morgan works as a petroleum engineer. Before her engineering career, Morgan worked as a special education teacher and rehabilitation counselor, and holds degrees in psychology/cognitive neuroscience and special education in addition to her engineering degree. A proud nerd, she is passionate about staying curious, continually learning, and being of service to others.
Jayci Richardson
SECRETARY
As secretary for True Heart Healing Jayci brings to the table her love of horses and how they bring people together. Jayci grew up around horses out in the prairie of South Dakota for most of her childhood. She spends most of her time with her family and training their horses. She works with mainly barrel and rodeo horses. Community and communication with animals has always been apart of her life, it is her goal to continue these activities and relationships through True Heart Healing.
She has worked for several prominent reining horse facilities as a breeding manager, overseeing the birth and well being of foals, mares, as well as stallions. As a continuation of her lifestyle she gives lessons, offers training, and works part time at a senior living facility.
Ben Dellenbach
Treasurer
Ben serves on the board as treasurer for True Heart Healing. Through a life centered on family and the outdoors, Ben has become an avid horse owner and lover. Along with his wife, Casie, and their two children, he maintains a small herd of 3 horses, 3 llamas, cats, and dogs. As a member of the True Heart Healing team, Ben aims to foster personal growth for members of the community through consistent equine interaction and education, especially when centered around the outdoors.
Professionally, Ben consults as a geological engineer in addition to raising his children full-time and pursuing the ongoing ranch work on his property outside of Kiowa, CO. Additionally, he runs a Rocky Mountain outfitting business through the use of his pack llamas. In his free time, he may be found in the mountains around a fire with his guitar.
